For the past years, the Philippines has gone through several disasters mostly caused by strong rains and typhoons. Last year, we experiences some of the worst after a magnitude 7.2 earthquake rocked Bohol and Cebu and Typhoon Yolanda swept through several provinces. Both calamities amongst many others left our country shattered and destroyed but definitely not without anything. Through all this, our sense of Bayanihan stood strong. It was through these calamities that we were reminded of the kindness of this nation.
However, It is not enough to simply pick up the pieces and start over. It is more important that we start changing our ways to prevent disasters like this from happening again. Hence, this April 12, Earth Day Network Philippines stages its first-ever fun run, PRO-EARTH RUN 2014. An advocacy run to encourage people to Protect, Respect, and Oversee the sensible and sustainable care for Mother Earth, it is presented by Malungai Life Oil – an organic and all-natural highly concentrated extract obtained from Malunggay leaves and seeds (www.malungailifeoil.com).
