Wanna run a short 5km run? What about a 10k run, or maybe 21k? Or a 42k even? Well what about 42,000km?? Impossible you say? Not to Cesar Guarin!

Cesar Guarin, better known as the “Father of Ultra marathons” is a man on a mission to conquer over 42,000km across the world in the Global Run: Takbong Alay sa Pilipino at sa  Buong Mundo.  Cesar enjoys running, but doing this isn’t just for himself but for Filipinos all over the world! There are millions of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) all over the world who work day in and day out just to provide for a family they barely see. Cesar “running” to them somehow gives them a feeling of home. Consider this Cesar Guarin’s personal tribute to all Filipinos everywhere!

He said, “My global run serves as a tribute and token of my gratitude to all Filipinos abroad for inspiring me to not give up and take courage in fulfilling my dream of running across the globe and also for their valuable contribution in helping our country’s economy and for enriching our cultural heritage”.

If that isn’t enough for you to admire the guy, Cesar Guarin is also part of a program called Batang Pangarap. He teamed up with Overseas Filipino communities as well as various agencies in order to get underprivileged kids into running, and and provide them with their basic needs and social development programs.

So far,  Cesar has already conquered 6 stages of his 16-stage quest! It’s amazing what a man with a dream can do!

In order for Cesar to get to these countries faster and easier, Cebu Pacific, the country’s leading low-cost carrier expresses its full support to him by sponsoring his travels.

“Cesar Guarin is very inspirational. He is trying to do something that no Filipino has ever done before, which is to run around the world, the equivalent of a thousand marathons,” said Alex Reyes, general manager of the Cebu Pacific Long Haul Division. “He’s also reaching out to all the OFW communities in the countries that he’s visiting, reaching out and bringing a little bit of home to them.”

Hold on, the next stage of his run is in the Middle East… there isn’t a direct flight from the Philippines to the Middle East yet right? Wrong!

Cebu Pacific Direct Flight to Dubai!

Alex Reyes expresses that not only is Guarin’s cause a worthy endeavor to support, his global run is aligned with Cebu Pacific’s core mission, which is to serve the Filipino overseas communities. “Today there is no Filipino carrier that flies to the Middle East.  We’ve chosen Dubai as our first long-haul destination to cater to Filipinos based there,” he said. “By making fares so much more affordable, OFWs can come home much more often or their families can visit them there.”

“Through Cebu Pacific’s low-fare, great-value service, we hope that there will be more frequent reunions for overseas Pinoys and their families,” Reyes added.
