Popcorn Picture Frame

Who knew there was so much you could do with popcorn? Just a few days ago, I shared our taste activity using popcorn.  Today, let me share with you another awesome activity that you may even give as gifts for the coming holidays!

I used to make picture frames using uncooked pasta, but it was always difficult to get the pasta to stick with plain glue. I usually used a glue gun. So we thought of using an alternative. Since we had so much leftover popcorn, we decided to try using it!

What you will need:

  • White Popcorn (Natural Flavor)
  • 2 Cardboard  or folders
  • Glue
  • Paint
  • Paintbrush/toothbrush or small screen
  • Picture

Step 1: Pre-cut the cardboard papers or folders for the picture frame. One will be used as the frame itself, and the other for the picture

Step 2: Soaking the popcorn in paint will make the popcorn soggy and small, so instead of soaking it, simple sprinkle some paint on the popcorn. In our case, we used a small screen to make the paint splatter all over the popcorn.

Step 3: Apply glue around the frame and start sticking your popcorn. Make sure the popcorn is covered in glue so it doesn’t fall off.

Step 4: Glue your photo unto the 2nd cardboard paper

Step 5: Attach the 2 cardboards or folders together. If your frame fits perfectly, try not to seal off the top. If it doesn’t, then do what we did and just glue the picture to the middle of the frame.

Display it in your house! Add a stand to put it on the counter top or a ribbon to hang it on the wall! Have fun!
