Ever tried letting kids eat their vegetables? Talk about a challenge! I used to trick my kids into eating their veggies by cutting it really small and covering it with lots of rice before feeding them! Just a small peak of the color green on their spoon would be chaotic! …still, it doesn’t hurt to try, and we did just that!

We tried to let our kids eat their healthy vegetables by having a vegetable salad making activity in class! They had a lot of fun mixing the veggies together that most of them were excited to try what they made. Still, there were some who didn’t know what to do as the vegetables lay in front of them.

What you will need:

  • Carrots
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes, Cucumber (optional)
  • Salad Dressing / Mayonnaise + Tomato Ketchup
  • Chicken Nuggets
  • Hard Boiled Eggs

TEACHER’S PREPARATION

  • We decided to let the kids bring the ingredients for this activity. However, if you wish to provide it yourself, make sure to cook the chicken nuggets and eggs beforehand. Do prepare a lot of chicken nuggets! The kids might not like the veggies but most of them would eat the salad because of the chicken nuggets! :)
  • For the dressing, you can either buy one or make your own. We made the dressing using some ketchup and mayonnaise.
  • Cut the vegetables beforehand but leave some whole to show the kids.

KID’S TURN

  • Toss in the lettuce and carrots
  • Mix in the chicken nuggets and eggs
  • Add the dressing
  • Mix and Toss!
  • Enjoy your healthy snack!
