Remember those days of hide and seek and tag? Basketball on the street, as long as there’s something to shoot the ball in… Water pistol fights… and random invented games. Do you remember what it was like to be a kid back then? The outdoors were our life! Today however, both kids and adults would rather stay in front of the computer playing Farmville or the like.

GET OUT MORE!

When was the last time you went out and explored life around you? A stroll on the beach, a visit to the zoo or a simple walk in the park. Life is passing you by and you’re missing it.

Top 5 ways you can get out more:

Go to a nearby park and run

I love to run, but besides getting a good exercise from it, running also leads us to places and new discoveries. Why not run around a nearby park such as Fort Bonifacio, Luneta, etc.? Watch the buildings, the people and the beauty that surrounds you.

Book a random trip

Sometimes we think too much that we forget to just GO FOR IT. If we keep thinking about the “buts”, we’ll be stuck forever. Book a random trip to your favorite place or anywhere at all. Get the chance to discover new cultures. taste new food and meet new people.

Break the routine

If you feel you’re too busy to get out more, what about trying a different routine? Instead of taking your usual route to work, do something new today. It’s like taking a tour bus to work! Pass the long way rather than taking the short cut, take a jeepney rather than a cab! There are multiple ways to do it.

Eat somewhere new

Restaurants are opening up everywhere! Visit them and try new dishes! Order food you don’t normally eat and tickle your taste buds.

Be a tourist in your home town

You don’t have to go somewhere to be a tourist. Just grab a map, a blog post or anything and start seeing the sites in your hometown. Take a friend along and start paying attention to the thingss you always ignored before. There might have been a historical site just nearby which you never noticed before because you were always in a hurry.

“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.” ― Eleanor Roosevelt
