As a teacher, I know how important education is for the young children. Though several only think it is the latter years that are important, studies have shown that it is the early years of education that mold the child to the person he or she will grow up to be.

For most of you reading this post, you have been blessed with a strong foundation and good education that will help get you through the rest of your lives. For several others however, a good education is only something they can dream about.

We can help turn that dream into a reality for several children of the fallen soldiers. The fallen soldiers are those who died fighting for our country, and I personally think it would be right to at least help send their children to school. These soldiers helped our country see a better future, let’s do the same for their children.

This coming February 12, Rundezvous Events Inc., through the run entitled RACE FOR THE ORPHANS aims to provide scholarship grants through “I-Hope”, a trust fund that will support the educational needs of these orphans of soldiers killed in action in Mindanao and for future grantees of the AFP Educational Benefit System (AFPEBS). As it recognizes our soldiers’ heroism, especially of those who lay down their lives in protecting peace, AFPEBSO gives priority to the orphans of Filipino soldiers who were killed in action.

“We shall leave no soldiers’ orphan behind” – AFPEBSO tagline
