Groupons (Group Coupons)  is starting to gain fame in the Philippines, and websites are slowly getting in on the trend.  The idea originated in America and I’m sure glad the Philippines is catching on. So how exactly does it work? Well, I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but buying stuff in bulk makes it cheaper! So rather than paying 20 pesos per roll of tissue paper, you can get 12 rolls for 100 pesos. Right? If only we had many many friends and family so we could always buy in bulk and save huge amounts of money. Well, thanks to this new group buying trend, you can!

Some famous website here in the Philippines that I enjoy visiting are Buyanihan.com and CashCashPinoy.com. They offer several deals almost every day that range from food, health and wellness, beauty, entertainment and more! All you need to do is click BUY and once the target number of buyers is reached, the deal is ON.

So last October, CASHCASHPINOY.com had this cool 50% discount at Sofitel’s Spiral buffet.

After seeing this deal, I just knew I had to purchase it! So I spoke with my fiance Philippe, and we made the order. I’ve heard to much about the Spiral buffet and was dying to try it out! …and Today I did just that!

As our Christmas date, Philippe and I headed to Spiral buffet at Sofitel in Roxas Boulevard. The place was great! I especially loved the spiral staircase going down! Everyone looked so formal, I felt as if I had to be really prim and proper and couldn’t be my usual wacky self! Regardless of that, the entire thing was really splendid!

Anyway, We presented our CashCashPinoy voucher and were immediately seated. After signing the receipt, it was time to munch!

We started with the Japanese counter. There were all kinds of sushi and sashimi! Just in front of it, there were fresh shrimp, mussels and crayfish (Which I thought was lobster)! Yum! We sat down and ate MEAL #1!

Afterward, we headed to the next counter where they served a variety of cheese, dried meat, pizza and more. We didn’t take much here and headed to the next counter where we saw sukiyaki, octopus balls and tempura!  That was MEAL #2!

I was getting stuffed but there was still room in my big tummy for more! So off we were to the next counter where we had a feast of different kinds of barbecued and roasted meat. Peking duck, lamb chops, turkey and prime ribs! Yum, thinking about it is getting me hungry again! Num-num-num… finishing up meal #3!

There was a counter filled with Chinese food but being a Chinese, I really don’t want to eat more Chinese food. Especially this holiday season with reunions back and forth, I think I’ve had too much Chinese food in me for one week! So we skipped this and headed off to the sweets counter. Cookies, ice cream, fondues, cupcakes, crepe, fruits and more! My teeth are already aching just thinking about it! (haha) There was so much GUMMY!…and if you know me, you know I love gummy! Gummy and fondue for MEAL #4!

Whooo… I’m stuffed! But I HAD to try their ice cream! Philippe on the other hand decided to try their halo-halo. They were doing this TEPANYAKI thing with the ice cream wherein they would “fry” it on ice and mix other topping with it like chocolate, caramel and peaches. The ice cream alone was good enough for me but I wanted to try this tepanyaki thing, so I had them mix the mango ice cream with peaches. Good one! We couldn’t take any more pictures though ‘coz one of the waiters told us we weren’t allowed to. aw men. Ice cream and Halo-halo for MEAL #5!

By this time, I was stuffed. I surrender! But Philippe still wanted to try the strawberry ice cream so….Philippe eats MEAL #6 for the win! (haha)

Wow!! The entire experience sure was HEAVENLY! I loved everything I ate and left the restaurant with a fully and happy tummy! Thanks CASH CASH PINOY for your wonderful deal and for giving us the chance to eat in this yummy buffet! I look forward to purchasing more deals with you! Also looking forward to another discount on Spiral! I’d definitely love to go back!
