1. First beneficiary: Sendong victims via Red Cross and Sagip Kapamilya

Sendong

As all of you know, Typhoon Sendong took Mindanao by surprise and left several places in devastating situations. Cagayan de Oro and Iligan were two of the most affected by the typhoon wherein thousands of lives were lost. Typhoon Sendong affected 29 municipalities, 278 barangays and 53,240 families (161,437 persons), with 1,194 injured and 636 still reported missing. 24,681 houses were totally or partially damaged and there are still 39,414 persons housed in evacuation centers to date.Though many have already done their part to help, there are still many victims who need our help.

2.Second Beneficiary: Baby Raphael Carlos

Baby Raphael

Last Aug. 22, 2011, parents Richard and Cecilia were blessed with a beautiful baby boy! They waited 7 years and were happy to see their FIRST baby. Unfortunately, Baby Raphael came 3 months earlier than expected and weighed only .880kls. (1.9lbs). His heart stopped twice already but thankfully the  doctors were able to revive him! Since August, baby Raphael has only been in the hospital fighting for his life. His parents have kept the faith and are not losing hope, but they need help. The hospital bill has already reached 500 thousand and there’s still much more needed to save Baby Raphael. So what do you say we show them some love and help out?

  • Race to 1.5M!

This coming Saturday, let’s all join in and help these two beneficiaries! It’s a race for 1.5 Million pesos!! 100% of the registration fee will go STRAIGHT to these two beneficiaries! 80% to the victims of Sendong and 20% to Baby Raphael. And to prove this to you, the money earned will be counted on stage and given directly to Red Cross, Sagip Kapamilya and the parents of Baby Raphael in cold cash on race day itself!

Are you guys up for the challenge? Do you guys think that for one day we can all put aside our differences and donate what we have to these people? I think we can do it! Alone we are nothing, but united we can do wonders! Let’s all pitch in and help those who need it most

  • Donations in Cash or Kind

Besides your donation/registration fee, you may also donate in cash or kind starting today until race day! Registration  partners will be accepting donations in kind. On the other hand, if you wish to donate in cash, just visit eatprayrun.org for more details.

  • TODO RESPONDE RUN, the story behind.

Francis Razon of EatPrayRun Sportswear, thru Facebook, made a call to respectable names in our community, to unite and launch a fund raising run event for the Sendong victims and baby Rafael. Great people responded. Michelle Estuar & Renan Morales, Raffy Santos & Edwin Soriano of runnersrunner.com, Raul Acuna of ARC, Rovic Canono of Greentenial, Jonel Mendoza of Front Runner, Jinoe Gavan of Takbo.ph, Jeff Lo of Pinoy Fitness, Team BGC. Running Host Boy Ramos, Tia de Guzman of Pepsquad events and even our Rio Dela Cruz of RUNRIO pledged to help the noble event. Hence, “TODO RESPONDE RUN”. And the chain of support continues to grow. However we are still calling upon other teams, organizers and institutions to be one with us in launching a noble grand event that will raise significant funds for the Sendong Victims and Baby Rafael.

  • Lastly, THANK YOU!

Thank you for choosing to register. Thank you for choosing to help. Thank you for changing someone’s life today! This race would not have been possible without the great minds behind it. Everything done for this race was done purely out of sheer love. Not much was spent, everyone volunteered what they had to make this race possible.

Sir Francis Razon of EatPrayRun who came up with the wonderful idea. Jay Em of PROACTIVE EVENTS who supplied most of the race infrastructures. …AND MANY MANY MORE!!!

In behalf of the beneficiaries, THANK YOU!
